Another Successful Fundraising Opportunity Thanks to the American Gold Cup
It was another spectacular show jumping event at this year's American Gold Cup, held September 9-13 in Old Salem, NY, and another successful fundraising opportunity for JustWorld International. The American Gold Cup is one of the most prestigious competitions in the nation, and the organizers, Morrissey Management Group and Old Salem Farm, were pleased to partner with JustWorld International as a charity partner for the fifth year in a row. During the family-friendly event, a number of very special JustWorld activities were highlighted throughout the week, all of which will provide support for JustWorld’s mission to provide education, nutrition, health & hygiene, and cultural development programs for impoverished children around the world. Many elite show jumping competitors were seen throughout the week at the American Gold Cup competing as JustWorld Ambassadors. In doing so, they help to raise awareness and funds for the organization’s programs. Some Ambassadors competing this week at the American Gold Cup included Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Kraut, Candice King, Katherine Strauss, Nick Dello Joio, Gabrielle Hero, Andre Mershad, and Sophie Simpson. Technical Official Ambassador Pedro Cebulka donned a festive JustWorld coat during the event, continuing to raise awareness of JustWorld.
Ambassadors and JustWorld supporters helped carry out various fundraising initiatives during the American Gold Cup.
During the American Gold Cup Qualifier presented by Windsor Show Stables, JustWorld organized a “Clear the Jump.” During the competition, participants made a pledge and that pledge amount was applied each time the competitors cleared the JustWorld jump that was in the ring. This was a fun and interactive way to raise awareness among exhibitors and the audience. On Sunday, the JustWorld International signature Horseless Horse Show took place prior to the start of the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping New York competition on the Old Salem Grand Prix field. There were classes for all ages and all proceeds benefited JustWorld International. The JustWorld International Horseless Horse Show allows children to experience show jumping like the top athletes on the Grand Prix field, only on foot. Funds were also raised for JustWorld’s programs as Morrissey Management Group donated a portion of program and ticket sales for the event.
World-renowned Swiss watch brand Longines donated an exquisite Longines watch for a drawing to benefit JustWorld International before Sunday’s Grand Prix.
Since the beginning of JustWorld and Longines’ partnership more than three years ago, more than 120,000 meals were provided to children at JustWorld’s partner projects around the world. JustWorld Founder and Executive Director Jessica Newman shared, “Longines’ help is essential to our success, providing children in impoverished countries with a better future. Through Longines’ watch drawing and other initiatives, such as the “Longines Clear the Jump,” Longines serves as an exemplary model for corporate social responsibility.”
Thank you!
JustWorld gives special thanks to MMG for their continued support. Jessica Newman shared, “It is because of supporters like MMG and the integral role they play in helping further the JustWorld mission that JustWorld is able to continue to support more than 6,500 children around the world.”
