The goal of Cheers for Change is to take the stuffiness out of typical fundraising events and create an inspiring atmosphere for supporters to gather their network together to give back to children in need. The Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF) was JustWorld's first horse show partner to host a JustWorld Cheers for Change event during Week IV of their circuit in 2016 and was delighted to host a 2017 Cheers for Change fundraiser. On Friday, July 21, 2017, the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival invited the horse show participants as well as the local community to raise awareness and funds for JustWorld's programs, all while having fun at a benefit concert. Northern Michigan native Paul Livingston, who has been a soulful performing solo artist and a frontman for several area bands over the past ten years, performed for the attendees.

FAMILY FUN

Other family fun activities included a balloon artist, a pie eating contest, a bounce house, and delicious food and drinks. In lieu of admission, guests were encouraged to make a donation to JustWorld. All funds raised during the night benefited JustWorld's education projects in Cambodia, Guatemala, and Honduras. Ambassador Lilly Nace gave an inspiring speech during the night, explaining her involvement as an Ambassador and shared her purpose for giving back to these programs.

#JUSTWORLDROCKS

JustWorld continued to spread awareness of their programs and unite equestrians for a cause throughout the weekend. They hosted a fun activity to get children at the horse show involved called “JustWorld Rocks!” Participants joined JustWorld at the JustWorld booth to decorate a JustWorld rock and hide it around the show, with information directing the discoverers back to JustWorld’s site and social media, where they could learn more about JustWorld’s partner projects and how to get involved.
