JustWorld Represented at The Longines Masters of Los Angeles

Stéphane Deneef of Longines, Jane Richard Philips, Destry Spielberg and JustWorld Founder and Executive Director Jessica Newman

The Longines Masters of Los Angeles brought glamour, prestige, and entertainment fused with top level show jumping to the Los Angeles Convention Center over the weekend for the third year in a row.

The Longines Masters Grand Slam not only resulted in a grandiose event, but also exemplified a long-standing commitment to charitable giving. On Saturday, October 1, 2016, seven teams composed of one professional rider and one amateur rider, transformed into character and jumped for a charitable cause of their choice during the Pro-Am Charity competition.screen-shot-2016-10-03-at-9-18-35-amThis year, each of the seven teams that competed dressed up in costumes and rode to a music selection highlighting their chosen theme. Each team started with a skit to impress celebrity judges Lawerence Zarian, Olivia Jordan and Sam Rubin. The judges awarded bonus style points for each routine and then the teams set off on the course. Thanks to EEM and Longines, JustWorld International was thrilled to have once again been chosen as one of the select few charities invited to compete in the special Pro-Am Charity competition. JustWorld International is a nonprofit, humanitarian organization that funds life-changing education, nutrition, health and hygiene, and leadership and cultural development programs for more than 6,500 children in Cambodia, Guatemala, and Honduras. JustWorld's dedicated and ongoing partner, Longines, who is also the Title Partner, the Offical Timekeeper and Watch of the event, generously supported the JustWorld Team.screen-shot-2016-10-03-at-9-18-54-am

The JustWorld Team consisted of Longines Ambassador of Elegance Jane Richard Philips and Destry Spielberg. The riders dressed as ninjas with actual martial artists demonstrating flips and acrobatic tricks before the riders set off. Although there was only one team with the fastest time, the seven charities all came up on top, earning $26,000 to help support their cause.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsOcfyz1xyo
