In April, a great delegation of JustWorld Ambassadors and supporters ventured to visit the JustWorld Guatemala project partner, Los Patojos.Like most JustWorld partner project visits, it left a lasting impression and excitement for the future for the bright lives that JustWorld supports. Ambassador Sheer Levitin shares her account:I want to thank my JustWorld family for making my first trip to Guatemala such a successful and inspiring few days. I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot of the world, but Guatemala was a new territory for me. I went into this trip open minded as I wasn’t sure what to expect.Experiencing new cultures is something I enjoy, so I soaked up as much of the Guatemalan culture as possible. I don’t think I fully understood what JustWorld did until I came and got my hands dirty with the children. All Ambassadors should make the effort to come, you won’t regret it.I learned how crucial JustWorld is to making these kids lives happier and how much we actually can contribute to them in many different ways. It was refreshing to see children who have so little be so happy. Coming into this, I wasn’t sure how I would be able to improve their lives; then I realized that they were happy enough with just my presence alone.My eyes have not only been opened by these unbelievable children, but they have inspired me to look at life from a different perspective. I will now look at the small things that make me happy and appreciate it rather than looking for all the errors.This trip showed me how lucky I am, along with many others in Wellington, and to look at the glass half full not half empty. I connected with people I never thought I would have. These children are so bright and they deserve the chance to pursue a future in whatever they desire.
