Achieving Something Remarkable

JustWorld Ambassador, Kay Victoria Neatham, is an equestrian with an extensive background as a stable manager, with over 20 years working in the sport of Show Jumping and experience at four Olympic Games, the Pan American Games, countless trips to the World Cup finals and nearly every show in Europe. But this year, Kay has turned her sights on an even bigger goal- her dream of participating in The Clipper Round the World ocean yacht race and raising funds for children at JustWorld's projects. With intense training that started in England, Kay joined a fleet in Australia and will race from there to China and then across the pacific to Seattle.
Kay is on a quest to give children the resources to dream. What Kay is set out to do is no simple feat; here is what she has had to say about her motivation behind this extraordinary adventure:   “I grew up loving books. I remember the first time I picked up J.R.R. Tolkien in the school library- I sat on the floor beneath the shelf and never heard the bell for my next lesson; I had entered another world, exciting and fascinating. I remember when I needed to look something up for school like whales or the weather, searching in the library and being able to do so all by myself without a teacher or parent, discovering new things, things that I would then share with others. It made me proud and feel very grown up to explain something to my dad! What do you remember about your first book? Which books could you not get enough of? Which writers do you recommend to others? I believe that every child should be able to stroll into a library, wonder through the different sections, pick up any book and through the pages before them begin to dream. After getting a place on Legs 5 and 6 of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, I decided to try to raise donations, equivalent to at least half of the cost it will take to live my dream, to help children around the world. My first stop just recently was to a bookstore to get sailing books, to research the weather better, and this journey of learning started again inside the pages of my new books. This race will not be easy. It is going to be very tough mentally and physically, but I know helping others to fulfill their dreams will help keep me motivated to give my best every day.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for JustWorld.

With your love and support, let's help show children that we care about dreaming and achieving!” Please consider showing your support for Kay on her journey of a lifetime that also changes many more at bit.ly/KayNeatham
