Les Printemps des Sports Équestres Supports JustWorld With Visibility In Festive Atmosphere
Considered one of the hotbeds of French equestrian culture and history, Fontainebleau boasts one of the top equestrian sports venues in Europe. Horses have been lining up to race in the city since 1776, and its military school of equitation, in the former stable of the famous chateau, dates back 200 years.
For a week each April, Fontainebleau also hosts one of the sport’s top competitions in Les Printemps des Sports Équestres with GL Events Equestrian Sport, offering five-star jumping and dressage alongside three-star eventing and para-dressage at the Grand Parquet, bringing the elite from equestrian sports together to prepare for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
As the official charity partner of the event, JustWorld will be represented by several Ambassador riders, a jump in the arena, a class activation, announcement and on-screen display of the nonprofit mission and testimonials. JustWorld Ambassadors from around the world, whether riders, owners, fans or officials, spread awareness and fundraise to support JustWorld Global Projects, changing the world one stride at a time. They wear branded merchandise, share the mission on social media, and spread the message through interviews. Equestrians of all ages and disciplines are encouraged to learn more about the program.
There’s a long-established connection between GL Events Equestrian Sport and JustWorld International. In 2012, Sylvie Robert, then director of equestrian events at GL Events, was keen to fervently support JustWorld’s humanitarian activities.
In 2014, when the GL Events team organized its first FEI World Cup Finals in Lyon, France, they made sure JustWorld was in the spotlight, providing fantastic visibility to sports enthusiasts around the world.
Last year, GL Events welcomed JustWorld International to Les Printemps des Sports Équestres with great enthusiasm. The show supports JustWorld’s work to provide education, healthcare, nutrition, and leadership programs benefitting children in developing communities around the world. They are thrilled to host JustWorld again this spring, from April 22-28, at the Grand Parquet in Fontainebleau. The event is organized in partnership with the French Equestrian Federation and the Fédération Equestre Internationale.
Para-dressage will kick off the show on April 22, with grades I-V, under the watch of Anne Prain, President of the Ground Jury, who will also be the President of the Ground Jury at the Paralympic Games. The competition will include top French riders vying for the Paralympic team.
Jumping action commences on April 24, with challenges created by course designers Santiago Varela Ullastres and Grégory Bodo, who will be working at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, along with top riders who will be preparing for the Games, under the watchful eye of the French national selector Henk Nooren. A CSIYH* and a CSI2* will be held at the same time to enable riders coming to the event to bring a string of horses.
Dressage, April 27-28, will also feature the French FFE Master Pro Championships.
Eventing, offered for the first time at Le Printemps des Sports Équestres, will include a CCI3*-S for 30 riders, April 23-24. Pierre Le Goupil, appointed by the FEI last year to design and create the cross-country course for this summer’s Olympics, will also be officiating in Fontainebleau.
In addition, there will be a Fences Performance Auction of 20 sport horses on the evening of April 27, and spectators will find plenty of opportunities for shopping in the exhibitors village as well, plus children's activities, from petting animals to pony rides and drawing activities, jumping obstacles on stick horses and pedal tractor races.
Don’t miss GL Events Equestrian Sport’s spring highlight, surrounded by centuries of equestrian history, as it celebrates its third year in Fontainebleau and showcases JustWorld.
