JustWorld Benefits at The Longines Masters of Los Angeles

The Longines Masters of Los Angeles brought glamour, prestige, and entertainment fused with top level show jumping to the Los Angeles Convention Center over the weekend. The Longines Masters Grand Slam not only resulted in a grandiose event, but also exemplified a long-standing commitment to charitable giving. On Saturday, October 3, 2015, eight teams, composed of one professional rider and one amateur rider, transformed into character and jumped for a charitable cause of their choice.Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 12.07.53 PMThis year, each of the eight teams that competed dressed up in costumes and rode to a music selection highlighting their chosen theme. Prizes were awarded for the fastest time over the course, as well as for best style. Each team was judged on the number of penalties over the fences as well as the team's style and horse's style. A celebrity jury, composed of James Bond girl Denise Richards, actress Perrey Reeves from Entourage, and KTLA anchor Sam Rubin, judged the teams based on best style. Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco, dressed as Luke Skywalker, and teammate Tracy Wade, dressed at Darth Vader, won Saturday night's Charity Pro-Am Style & Competition.Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 12.07.27 PMJustWorld International was thrilled to have once again been chosen as one of the select few charities invited to compete in the special Charity Pro-Am Competition. The JustWorld Team consisted of JustWorld Ambassador Hannah Selleck and Jane Richard Philips. Hannah Selleck and Jane Richard Philips came alive in their fantastic costumes, dressed as Alice in Wonderland and the Queen of Hearts. During the night, the JustWorld Team became a force to be reckoned with, proudly finishing third overall.Hannah Selleck and Jane Richard Philips were not the only JustWorld Ambassadors on sight at the Longines Masters of Los Angeles. Steven Wilde scripted the JustWorld Alice in Wonderland introduction skit for the charity class. A whole team of JustWorld supporters, clad in Alice in Wonderland costumes, came out that night to support not only the JustWorld team, but to raise awareness for the JustWorld partner projects around the world that help support thousands of children in need. Ambassadors included Francie Steinwedell, as the White Rabbit, Erin Duffy as the Cheshire Cat, Alicia Heiniger, as Alice’s older sister, Ava Ewing as the Alice in the skit, and Ignace Philips as the King. “A charity class at an event like the [Longines Masters of Los Angeles] is such a great way to raise awareness for charities like JustWorld.  And to do it all in costume makes it that much more fun," said Selleck.Special thanks to JustWorld partner Longines and everyone that came out to support JustWorld!
