JustWorld International was thrilled to be a part of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival for the first time July 1st-26th at Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City, Michigan. Stadium Jumping Inc., excited to be the new owners of the show and provide their expertise to the competition, invited JustWorld International to spread its mission- to break the cycle of poverty by funding local partners around the world helping children thrive.Screen Shot 2015-08-10 at 9.52.33 AMOn July 18th, following Saturday’s events, competitors enjoyed the “Beer and Ear” exhibitor party hosted by JustWorld International. The event featured music by nine year-old mandolin prodigy Nik Carman, and was followed by the main event, the Josh Davis Trio. Josh Davis recently received third place on the popular TV show “The Voice” and has become a household name for his original songs that blend many folk traditions. Josh Davis, a Traverse City native, announced before he began, “I am so happy to be able to perform in my hometown and be here with you all on such a great night for a great cause.”Screen Shot 2015-08-10 at 9.52.22 AMFace painting, extravagant balloon animals, and lawn games were just some of the fun activities included in the evening’s festivities, followed by a timed corn eating contest. The highlight of the activities, the corn-eating contest, attracted a wide range of competitors from a resilient four year-old to a professional rider. Attendees also dined on a plentiful buffet supplied by Graystone Catering and a complementary beer selection, courtesy of Traverse City’s popular North Peak Brewing Company. The huge turnout for the “Beer and Ear” was a successful night of raising awareness for the incredible work JustWorld does around the world. All of Saturday night’s donations will go towards supporting children’s programs in developing countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Cambodia, and Colombia. JustWorld is thankful for the support of Stadium Jumping’s team and is looking forward to next year’s show!
