The Mobile Library in Honduras
By the Youth Communicators Network, Asociación Compartir in Tegucigalpa, Honduras
"The mobile library is one of our favorite activities. When Nelson arrives in our community with his stories, guitar and songs, it always brings us a lot of joy and fun while we learn about values and good attitudes as well as the importance of reading and imagination. No matter where we live we know that we will always see the mobile library driving in the streets, encouraging more children to join the educational and recreational activities in which we participate. One of the most interesting activities we do is the recreational games and educational songs. We have to embrace the opportunities we have to learn because we face difficult problems every day in our communities such as poverty and a lack of water, electricity, and other services. The mobile library is an important resource for the youth in the communities of Los Pinos, Nueva Suyapa and Villa Nueva. We, the boys and girls of the Red de Comunicadores (communicators network), want to tell children around the world that reading allows us to know the unknown and awakens our imagination and that we all have the right to a good education. Thanks to our friends at JustWorld, we can enjoy many opportunities. Your generosity reaches us here in our houses where we live because Compartir lends us books to bring home and read with our families too. Thank you, JustWorld, for the books, snacks, decorations, and instruments. Thank you for the truck that comes to our streets which are difficult to walk on. Thank you for the clothes we wear in our presentations and understanding and believing in us.Leer en Español: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v8i28ws2wrqu8uz/November%202015%20Newsletter%20Article_English.docx?dl=0
